Let’s be factual if we are going to discuss what you are labeling “rampantâ€. McClennan county has 4,500 cases and 256,000 people in the county, also about 1.7%. But, to put it in perspective, there are ~29 million people in Texas and 500,000 (reported) covid cases, so ~ 1.7% of our population has the virus. We should take obviously take it seriously. But, when I see words like “rampantâ€, you need to tap the brakes a bit. And you can certainly argue that is the socially responsible thing to do. You cant imagine any reason? I have no issue if you want to skip. But this, I think, does not outweigh basic concepts of epidemiology and social responsibility. I miss racing a lot I also understand that others have committed a considerable amount of time and expense to prepare for their races. This is the first season since 1979 that I have not raced. Even if one is willing to assume the additional risk of racing at this time, there still is the problem of potentially endangering lives at the race venue, at home, and points in-between. Null-and-void wrote:For the life of me (no pun intended), I cannot imagine why anyone would be willing to do a race this fall, especially in a region in which the Covid is rampant, and with no proper testing or contact tracing. I'm back to my wedding day weight, and I'm not going to squander the fitness just because a race is cancelled. Four weeks after schools open will still be in the time frame of when they are deciding if opening schools kicked off an apocalypse or not, so the governor's order won't be lifted.Īll that said, I'm going to keep training like it's going to happen. Universities are going back this month, schools open next month. Unless that gets lifted, it's probably a battle IM isn't willing to fight. Right now the governor has an order in place that still prohibits large groups. Traits may be gained or lost via Gene Therapy or by flying S.T.E.V. Some are beneficial effects, but others are detrimental. However, I don't see the timing working out. Each Client has one or two random traits they exhibit. Loot containers primarily offer materials and ammo, but one container per ship will typically have a craftable part that will be the primary focus of your incursion. And no writer in Texas would do something to get a college football game cancelled. Loot in Void Bastards comes in many flavors, both loose and in containers food, fuel, materials, ammo, and occasionally merits. I don't think Waco will run into the same issue since there are far larger things kicking off before the race happens that will be stealing all the headlines (schools, university, etc.). Don’t worry though, as any crafting progress you’ve made is retained from one to another.I thought Lubbock could happen, but all the headlines specifically mentioning Lubbock made it untenable. When one dies, another steps forward to carry on the fight. Void Bastards features a 12-15 hour campaign that you can complete with an endless supply of prisoners, each with their own unique traits. All the while you must keep scavenging for the food, fuel, and other resources that keep you alive. Flee from void whales and pirates, and politely avoid the hungry hermits. Navigate your tiny escape pod through the vast nebula. Use your hard won supplies to improvise tools and weapons, from the distracting robo-kitty to the horribly unstable clusterflak. ![]() React to what you find - will you detour to the generator to bring the power back online or will you fight your way into the security module to disable the ship’s defenses? Choose carefully when to fight, when to run and when just to be a bastard. Move carefully through the dangerous ships, searching for supplies and manipulating control systems. On board derelict spaceships you’ll plan your mission, taking note of the ship layout, what hazards and enemies you might encounter and what terminals and other ship systems you can use to your advantage. And then you must carry out that strategy in the face of strange and terrible enemies. You make the decisions: where to go, what to do and who to fight. Your task is to lead the rag-tag Void Bastards out of the Sargasso Nebula. Forget everything you know about first-person shooters: Void Bastards asks you to take charge, not just point your gun and fire.
